Overview
Experience the excitement of the Cavendish by playing in the WBP Teams or Pairs events, both of which are open to all interested bridge players on a first-come, first-serve basis. 
Modeled after the invitation-only events, the WBP Pairs and Teams events were added to the Cavendish to answer the growing demand for world-class money tournaments that are available to a broader base of bridge players.
The open-play events kick off with the WBP Teams tournament, an exciting one-day event held the Friday before Mother's Day. The prize pool for this event is based on entry fees from participating teams and is distributed among top finishing teams.
The WBP Pairs tournament gets underway the following morning with a breakfast auction. The auction features a minimum bid of $1,000 per pair, with the auction money pooled together and paid out to the owners of the top finishers. The WBP Pairs event starts shortly after the auction wraps up, with head-to-head matches that culminate in a finals event on Mother's Day. Along with the auction pool is a player's pool comprised of player entry fees that is paid directly to the top finishing pairs.
